Publisher. HowManyAnagrams is published by Considered Ideas Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17258515) with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. For questions about these Terms, see Contact at the end of this document.

These Terms apply to your use of HowManyAnagrams, a paid word-puzzle app in which you estimate how many anagrams exist before finding them.

By using HowManyAnagrams, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Relationship with Apple's terms

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the Apple EULA, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula, applies to your use of the app.

These Terms are intended to supplement the Apple EULA with product-specific points relating to HowManyAnagrams. They do not replace the Apple EULA.

Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA takes precedence. Where these Terms address matters that the Apple EULA does not, these Terms apply.

Nothing in these Terms or in the Apple EULA removes any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws in the country in which you bought or use the app.

2. What the app is

HowManyAnagrams is a word puzzle. Each puzzle shows five letters; you estimate how many accepted answers use all five letters exactly once, then hunt for them. The app includes a finite, reviewed collection of puzzles whose size is shown in the app, offers one daily puzzle selected on your device, and works without an internet connection after installation. There is no account, no subscription, and no in-app purchase. The app is intended for personal use.

3. What the app is not

HowManyAnagrams is entertainment. It involves no wagering, prizes, or rewards of monetary value, and nothing in it constitutes professional advice of any kind.

4. Content and the puzzle collection

The puzzles and their accepted answer lists are curated and reviewed before release against a defined British-English standard. Some words listed in other dictionaries are deliberately excluded, such as proper nouns, abbreviations, and highly specialist or archaic terms. We make reasonable efforts to keep each puzzle's accepted answer list complete under that standard, but we cannot guarantee absolute completeness. Corrections and additions to the collection arrive through ordinary app updates. If you write to support about a word, we cannot promise to investigate, respond to, or adopt the suggestion.

The selection, arrangement, design, code, and original copy of HowManyAnagrams are owned by Considered Ideas Ltd and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

You may not copy, scrape, republish, sell, or systematically extract the app's content, design, interface, or other material without permission, except where the law allows.

5. Your use of the app

You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt to reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it in a way that infringes the rights of others.

You also agree not to use the app or its contents for unlawful, harmful, commercial extraction, or automated scraping purposes.

6. Saved data and local storage

The app saves your preferences, results, and progress locally on your device.

If you delete the app, reset your device, clear app data, or move to a new device without restoring from backup, this information may be lost. There is no account or server copy from which it can be recovered.

7. Reminders

If you enable the daily reminder, the app schedules local notifications on your device.

Delivery of reminders may depend on your device settings, notification permissions, Focus modes, Do Not Disturb, operating system behaviour, battery settings, and other factors outside our control.

You can disable the reminder in the app or through your device settings.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the app where reasonably necessary, for example to improve functionality, maintain compatibility, address errors, or comply with legal requirements.

We do not promise that the app will remain available for download, receive updates, or remain compatible with future versions of iOS, devices, or App Store requirements indefinitely.

We will try to keep the app reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Purchases and refunds

The app is sold through the Apple App Store. Purchases, refunds, cancellations, and billing are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and policies.

You should contact Apple for App Store purchase or refund issues unless the App Store directs you otherwise.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HowManyAnagrams is provided for personal use and we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the app, including loss of data or loss arising from missed or delayed reminders.

11. Privacy

Your use of the app is also covered by our Privacy Notice, which explains what data is stored and used.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
